Asbestos Testing / Sampling
It is not possible to identify asbestos just by looking at it. It can only be positively identified by a special polarised light microscope.
All asbestos samples taken by Clearaway are sent to our UKAS Accredited Asbestos Testing Lab.
Management Surveys Air Testing / Clearance Certificates
This is the standard survey. It’s purpose is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspected asbestos containing materials (ACMs) that could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, or foreseeable maintenance and installation. These surveys also include an assessment of the ACMs condition and their ability to release fibres in the air if disturbed.
These surveys may involve minor intrusive work and some disturbance. If the surveys findings recommend removal of certain ACMs, we will supply you with a written quote for all work to be undertaken.
Refurbishment and Demolition (R&D) Survey
This survey is required before any R&D work can be carried out on a property. Its purpose is to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs in the relevant areas where the work will take place, so they can be removed prior to work commencing.
This survey is fully intrusive and may include destructive inspection to gain access to all areas. Samples will be taken as required and sent to a UKAS lab and results recorded in a full survey report.
